The Cliff Coast County

Experience the Coastal Scenery Up Close
A drive up and down the cliff coast of County Clare will let you experience fabulous coastal scenery up close, while the more adventurous will find plenty to keep them occupied hiking in the Burren, cycling on quiet country roads, rock climbing close to the coast or surfing in nearby Lahinch and Fanore. Travel further south along the coast, ramble the cliffs at Kilkee, visit Loop Head Lighthouse or take a boat trip out for a tour of Scattery island from the thriving market town of Kilrush. After your day’s adventures, pop into one of Doolin’s famous pubs for dinner and relax with a pint and some wonderful music.

Venture Inland

More than just the Cliff Coast County
County Clare has much more to offer than just it’s fantastic coastline and the fabulous Burren landscape. Why not extend your stay and take a few day trips inland? Visit Killaloe on the mighty River Shannon as it flows from Lough Derg, step back in history at Cragganowen Castle open air museum or visit the heritage orchards and native woodland trails at Irish Seedsavers in Scarriff – maybe even take in one of their workshops.
