This looped walk is regarded as moderate-strenuous. Starting at the old church at Dunlewey the start of the walk enters the boggy ground of the Poison Glen. Following a broad ridge in the glen, you pass the sheer granite walls of the Poison Glen on your left as you climb. Access to the summit is achieved by passing Lough Slievesnaght. The return journey descends to the Devlin River and follows it through boggy ground back to Dunlewey. Mists can descend quite quickly here, so it is strongly recommended that you have map reading and compass skills. Also be aware that the terrain is very boggy in parts.
As usual we recommend that you visit outdooractive.com and mountainviews.ie for varied routes and accurate descriptions before planning your hike.
