This is a relatively short but rewarding hike up Bulbin on the Inishowen peninsula. There are several routes up this mountain with an elevation of around 500m. The various routes are described by most as a relatively easy climb but care must be taken on the ridge as there are cliffs to one side. The views from the top are stunning and really reward the climber. Hikers in this area should be advised that mists can roll in very quickly and can be disorienting, so extreme care must be taken in these circumstances to avoid the cliffs on the ridge.
There is a small place to park by the cottage at 55.2349866,-7.442935. Follow the track to the gate and then cut across country and follow the ridge to the top. We recommend checking more detailed descriptions of this route on mountainviews.ie
